As Christmas is coming up, and most of us girls start looking for fun and trendy decorations for our house and dinner table, i thought it would be nice to give you some pointers of what is is fashion this year.
You may have heard by know, that the colors of the decorations, this year are back to basics, meaning we use RED, GREEN,GOLD, SILVER and WHITE. I could not be happier! In my opinion, this are the colors of the Christmas holidays. These colors are warm and joyful. Kids love them, and are perfect for dinner tables.
So, here are a few tips for arranging your Christmas table:
1. if you use many colorful decorations, then put the plates and tablecloth in just one simple color, preferably white. this way the decorations will stand up.
2. candles, is a must have!! they give a festive look to the table, and a warm invitation to a nice meal.
3. small gifts for your guests, placed on the table, make an elegant opening of the evening.
4.try to integrate some flowers or tree branches on the table.
5.do not put more than 4 colors on the table; maybe you can make it work with more, but it is risky. keep it nice and simple, and you will have an elegant table arrangement.

I must be honest and say that i do not know exactly how to define the retro-chic style, but i can say that i can identify it from a distance :)
Retro-Chic is a mixture between the colorful '70s style and the simple modern lines. In this design you can play with prints, wallpaper, and modern art and have fun with the simple furniture which doesn't have to be symmetrical or in a certain color.
As you may know by now, wallpapers are in a comeback,and thanks to the new technology they some of the manufactures make them even ecological. But most important there are specialized companies that customize them with your pictures, drawings, images that you like or they can even design your own print idea. This way not only you give your house a personality, and underline your walls, but the wall paper may even become a piece of art which integrates in your home easily.
In the Retro-Chic design style you must keep in mind although not to clutter your room with to many prints.
For example, if you choose a rug with geometrical forms and more than 3 colors, it is better to go with furniture in just one color,and white in my opinion is the best. This way both pieces individualize.
Also if you use colorful wallpaper behind the sofa, it is best that it should have a neutral color, like black,white or even grey. In the pictures you may see below, that i have chosen you will surely understand what i am saying, and also visualize what type of furniture is included in this style.
